Approaching from Selby (southbound)
Follow the A1
South. On reaching exit at Selby Fork Travel Lodge take A63 towards
Selby, passing Lumby garden centre on right. At roundabout take last
exit right onto A162 towards Brotherton.
The entrance to the club is approximately 100m further down the road.
As you head towards Burton Salmon, 2 miles from the roundabout, the
range is not far away. There is a large pond at the front of the village
(as drawn on the map), and the entrance isn't signposted, but there
is a gap in the hedgerow and a steep downhill track. That's the entrance
to our grounds.
If you reach a large set of set back gates on your left hand side
with room to pull off and turn around, you've gone too far. Pull off
the road in front of the gates and turn right back on to the road,
keeping an eye out for the entrance on your left. If you get back
to the pond then you've missed it again! |
Approaching from the M62 (eastbound)
After Junction 32 (Pontefract and Castleford) stay over in the third
lane. Ignore the turn-off signposted A1 North and A1 South. Stay on
the M62 under the flyover where it becomes 2 lanes. Get ready for
the turn-off at Junction 33 for Ferrybridge Services. Stay left on
the slip road and take the first exit on the roundabout (A162). Follow
the road for a couple of miles until you see the Brotherton turn-off.
DON'T take the first exit, wait until after the hatch markings and
take the second road off the junction. This takes you up and over
a bridge over the A162. Stay in the left-hand lane as you approach
the roundabout. Take the first exit. A few hundred yards up the road,
bear right on the roundabout, passing the Indian restaurant and motor
auctions on your left.
As you head up the road towards Burton Salmon, keep an eye out for
the large gates on your right-hand side. As you pass the gates prepare
to indicate and slow down as the entrance will be on your left. If
you reach the pond at Burton Salmon then you've missed the entrance,
turn around in the village and head back down the road again, looking
for the entrance on your right hand side (see Southbound instructions). |
| We are close to the village of Burton Salmon.
If you can find Burton Salmon in your road atlas then look straight
at the large
scale map. If you cannot find Burton Salmon, try to locate Fairburn,
Brotherton or Hillam, and then use the small
scale map to find the area.
