First steps
Contact the secretary for more details if you need to, or just
come down to the club and have a chat. You can find the secretary's
details on the "contact" page.
Sunday is the best day to drop in for a visit.
Please note
Potential new members have to serve a
probationary period (details further down).
As a potential new member (PNM), you will be identified by a club
probationer badge.
You will have to attend on four seperate occasions on a Sunday (a
day when most committee members will be at the club).
You will be tutored and supervised by a committee member until
they consider that you are fit to shoot alone on the range. During
this probationary period, you will be given instruction about safety
rules and gun handling, along with hints and tips about general
marksmanship skills. Your visits will be recorded and the information
kept in a shooting log. The committee member who supervises you
will add comments about your attitude, safety awareness and your
general progress. You are free to see this information if you request
it.
After four visits, your folder will be reviewed and a decision
will then made about whether to accept or deny your full membership
to Pontefract Air Rifle Club.
Details of how to get to the club are on the "where
we are" page.
