In the beginning...
The club was founded in the mid-1980s. It was originally located
at the Territorial Army Barracks in Pontefract.
At its beginning, Pontefract Air Rifle Club was organised and run
as part of a local police initiative to instruct young people in
the care and use of air guns.
We now reside in Frog Hall Quarry at Brotherton and currently have
a thriving membership, thanks in no small part to our friendly,
family atmosphere.

BASC
 PARC has very
close ties with the British Association for Shooting and Conservation
(BASC) and we host various "Young Shot" events throughout
the year. In 2004 we were asked to marshall the Air Gun section
of the prestigious McNab Trophy Final.
This year sees the return of the Marksmanship Badge for the Scouts
- and we're proud to announce that PARC have been asked to host
and provide instruction for a group of up-and-coming young sharpshooters.
